Is CBS4 Anchor Rick Folbaum Looking For A Way Out Of South Florida?

MIAMI — After nearly five years at the helm of the CBS4 prime-time newscasts, Rick Folbaum is reportedly looking for a change of scenery.

The former Fox News Network anchor’s talent agent, according to two sources in the news business, has been shopping him around the country.

The agent has been calling news directors in large markets with a claim that Folbaum, 48, could be available as early as August 1.

CBS4 newsroom boss Liz Roldan declined comment.

Father of five Folbaum, meanwhile, seemed miffed by the question about a departure when reached on his cellphone today.

“I’m not going to comment on this,” he said after a few seconds to process. “I can’t comment.”

This much is sure about Folbaum, however: He doesn’t appear to be here for the long run.

Within days of his arrival in 2013, he and wife Kelcey Kintner paid $563,500 for a house in Weston that would be comfortable enough for their large family.

By mid-2016, however, the couple sold the house with a tiny wee-bit of a profit and moved into a rental.

Many TV contracts these days run in three-year increments, and the sale may have indicated Folbaum was expecting to make a whole career in these parts.

While impeccably professional and polished, Folbaum has never been accused of being particularly exciting on-the-air.

The entertaining end has really been handled by his wife, who runs the busy-mom child-rearing blog mamabirddiaries.com on topics as varied as the recent bat mitzvah of their daughter and breastfeeding in supermarket aisles.

This guy Folbaum looks like an IDIOT during the break during Colbert’s late night show, I guess with 5 kids he can’t afford a pair of socks. He is a complete fool, I am THRILLED to hear he’s leaving. NOT A BIG LOSS for So. Fla., good bye Rick the dick.
