MIAMI — Popular wisdom holds that it’s better to give than to receive, but music producer DJ Khaled doesn’t hold to that philosophy—at least, not in the bedroom.
Khaled, who is married to and has a son with Nicole Tuck, declared in an interview with the radio show “The Breakfast Club” that he does not perform oral sex—ever.
“There are certain things I just don’t do,” the Miami-based producer stated flatly. “I believe the woman should praise the man, the king.”
Khaled granted that “the queen” deserved her praise as well, but proposed a different method.
“My way of praising is, ‘How was dinner? You like the house you living in? You like all those clothes you getting?’” Khaled explained.
A female interviewer—apparently unable to believe her ears, despite Khaled’s directness—pressed for clarification:
“So you saying you don’t go down?”
“Nah, never,” the producer replied without hesitation. “No. I can’t do that. I don’t do that.”
“Not even for her birthday,” a male interviewer chimed in, “or Christmas?”
A disgusted Khaled, clearly not amused with the direction of the interview, simply shook his head in response. Still his tormentors pressed on, asking him how he would feel about his wife making a similar refusal toward him.
“No, that’s not okay, because you have to understand I am the don, I am the king,” Khaled declared. “I am the king of the house.”
Khaled’s comments have been met variously with everything from amusement to revulsion from the public. Another South Florida mainstay—film and wrestling star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson—responded via Twitter:
“Ahem.. *clears throat” as a man, I take great pride in mastering ALL performances.”
The superstar went on to acknowledge that his wry remark might be “a little TMI.”
Khaled has been unapologetic, and perhaps sums up his feelings best in another statement from his radio interview:
“It’s different rules for men,” he said. “We the king. There’s some things that y’all don’t want to do but got to get done. I just can’t do what you want me to do. I just can’t.”
Apparently, Khaled is equally incapable of the application of simple common sense and steering clear of unnecessary controversy.
