TEQUESTA — Grammy Award winner and six-time nominee Peter Rowan is bringing his unique brand of bluegrass to Palm Beach County to benefit the Sue Cunningham Music Scholarship for the Dreyfoos School of the Arts.
Singer Rowan has had a career spanning five decades and is known for playing the guitar, mandolin and yodeling.
You may not have heard of Rowan, but you know the people he’s worked with. He broke into the big time as one of Bill Monroe‘s Bluegrass Boys and also played with the Grateful Dead’s Jerry Garcia.
But it is his playing with three-time Florida fiddle champion Sue Cunningham that’s bringing him back to town. He played with the aeronautical engineer several times before her death in 2015 and now he’s lending a hand with her scholarship fund to honor her memory.
