MIAMI – Sports Illustrated only just debuted their 2018 Swimsuit Issue a month ago, but the legendary magazine is already looking ahead to 2019 and has selected a pair of up-and-coming models to feature prominently.

The 2018 edition showcased cover model Danielle Herrington, but also gave space to aspiring models Camille Kostek and Haley Kalil at a sizzling shoot in Belize.

SI broke new ground in preparing for 2018 by inviting swimsuit models who wanted to take part to make 60-second Instagram videos for review with the hashtag “#SISwimSearch.”

Submissions flooded in, and 35 models were picked to compete at a New York City photo shoot, from which the best 15 secured the honor of traveling to Miami to show off the new SI swimsuit lines.

It was in Miami that SI winnowed the list down to just six finalists (including Camille and Haley), who in turn had another photo shoot, this time for the actual magazine.

Camille and Haley were named the joint winners and were notified by current cover model Herrington over the weekend that they would appear in the 2019 edition.

Although relatively new to the big leagues of modeling, the SI Rookie All-Stars aren’t without their share of feathers in their respective caps. Camille used to be a cheerleader for the New England Patriots, and Haley is a former Miss Minnesota with a connection to pro football of her own: She’s married to Carolina Panthers offensive tackle Matt Kalil.

Camille and Haley both seized on their new roles with enthusiasm and a remarkable lack of inhibitions, dancing and frolicking for the camera in an array of slinky and sparse swimsuits with a sense of self-possession well beyond their years and their professional experience.

Whatever other models get selected for the much-anticipated 2019 Swimsuit Issue, Sports Illustrated seems to be off to a good start!
