PALM BEACH — Reality TV star Countess Luann De Lesseps was nabbed in Palm Beach at 1:30 a.m. today and charged with a litany of felonies that can fetch more than one year in prison each.
The Christmas eve arrest appears to have been alcohol related.
Details are scant since no paperwork has been filed against De Lesseps yet, and likely won’t be until Tuesday.
But Palm Beach Police threw the book at the Real Housewives of New York City star, charging her with four felonies and a misdemeanor, disorderly intoxication.
The more serious charges are battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer with violence and two counts of corruption of a public official by threat.
De Lesseps, 52, was released at 11:30 a.m. on her own recognizance despite the fact the countess by marriage lives in New York State. She face a $20,000-bond but the judge who presided on her first appearance today at the county jail said he felt secure that her notoriety doesn’t make her a flight risk.
The prosecutor at the hearing told the judge De Lesseps kicked a cop during her arrest and threatened to kill the officers who responded.
De Lesseps is a former wife of Count Alexandre de Lesseps. She was married to West Palm Beach playboy Tom D’Agostino Jr. until she divorced him earlier this year.
