MIAMI — Winning isn’t everything, but it’s going to be the only thing that gets Miami Dolphins head coach Adam Gase a good night of sleep.
Because he has just taken out a $2 million loan and Bank of America is going to be breathing down the young coach’s neck for the next 30 years!
That’s right, according to public documents filed last week in Broward, Gase and his wife Jennifer have just borrowed $1.92 million and they have until November 1, 2047 to pay it back.
What was their collateral? The 39-year-old coach’s house on SE 6th Street that he paid $750,000 for — in cash — last year.
The rumor in the coach’s fancy Rio Vista neighborhood is that Gase is planning to expand his 1935 house, and build a palatial mansion around it.
That’s a new one!
The Gases are a family of five, and their home is only 1,556-square-feet. Tiny by NFL head coach standards.
In fact, the coach got some ribbing from real estate site for buying such a small house.
We reached out the the Fins, but no one responded to our request for comment about the mortgage.
NFL head coaches make an average of $5 million a year, though the team has been tight lipped about Gase’s salary.
As long as the Fins win, he’ll have no trouble paying back the bank.
