MIAMI — Serena Williams’ post-baby body was rocking at the Bruno Mars concert at the American Airlines Arena in Miami earlier this week.
The 36-year-old tennis great has wasted no time getting into fighting shape just a month after giving birth to daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. Williams was accompanied by her fiancée Alexis Ohanian, the founder of Reddit.
The tennis champ documented her Wednesday night out with a series of Snapchat videos in which the couple is seen hanging out backstage with Mars and singer Marc Anthony. “I’m way too excited. Prob need to chill,” she captioned one of the videos.
Wearing a black and white body-hugging dress, Williams didn’t shy away from the food. In one post, she can be seen eating a cookie with Mars’ image printed on it.
The Just the Way You Are singer, 49, also showed up on Williams’ Snapchat after the show.
Williams also posted an Instagram pic of the couple wearing orange concert wristbands, which she captioned “@brunomars #XXIV tour Date night.”
On Monday, Williams and Ohanian headed to New Orleans to meet with her wedding planner. The couple took a private jet from Palm Beach Gardens to look at venues for their upcoming wedding. Among their stops was Meril, Emeril Lagasse’s restaurant, where they spent an hour chatting.
Wearing black leggings and a black leather jacket, the Grand Slam winner was all smiles as she hopped from one Big Easy location to the next. The couple, who were engaged last December, wanted to wait until their daughter was born to tie the knot. Also in tow was Chip, Williams’ mini Yorkshire Terrier, who was wearing a black vest.
The tennis star is expected to compete in the Australian Open next January. After this years’s competition, which she won, Williams’ stated, “Two weeks after we found out [about the pregnancy], I played the Australian Open. I told Alexis it has to be a girl because I was playing in 100-degree weather, and that baby never gave me any trouble. Ride or die. Women are tough that way.”
World champion, new baby and wedding on the horizon? Maybe you can have it all.
