DORAL — Former Doral Mayor Luigi Boria is hoping to make a killing on the sale of his home in the city he led for four years.
Hizzoner, 59, wants to unload his zero lot-line four-bedroom crib at Doral Estates for a whopping $880,000.
And that’s at a steep discount: Earlier this year, in the wake of his reelection loss for a second term to Juan Carlos Bermudez, the house was listed for $990,000.
Boria must be banking on Donald Trump mania: The house is advertised as having “excellent view and access” to Trump National Doral Miami.
Neither the mayor nor his son Alexander, the listing agent, returned calls and text-messages asking for their comment.
But records show the 2,500-square-foot house at 4671 NW 93rd Doral Court doesn’t appear to be packing in potential buyers. It’s been on the market for three months.
According to photos, however, Hizzoner spent quite a few bucks on the crib since he first bought it for $317,200 in 1990. According to the photos, it’s been updated to the max.
After serving two years as councilman Boria, who was born and raised in Venezuela before he moved his computer business to Doral, was mayor from 2012 until 2016. His tenure didn’t come without some controversy.
In 2015, he and the city were sued by residents who claimed he was restricting their rights to speak at city meetings.
And in 2014, Boria and councilmembers were accused of engineering the ouster of former City Manager Joe Carollo, allegedly in retaliation for Carollo’s reporting of campaign finance violations while Boria ran for mayor.
