BOCA RATON — Mean Girls actress Lindsay Lohan‘s dad and his wife, former Star magazine reporter Kate Major, had a rough night Friday, and one of them ended up Baker Acted.
After allegedly coming home drunk, Major called 911 to report a kidnapping when Michael Lohan, her husband threatened to leave the couple’s Boca Raton home with their two children.
During the call, Major was heard threatening Lohan, 57.
And when the smoke cleared Major, 34, was Baker Acted. The Baker Act is an only-in-Florida law that allows for the temporary detention for evaluation of people who who usually appear to suffer from mental illness.
According to police, Major was “taken to a mental health facility after making threats of violence against husband.”
Major married Lohan in 2014. The embattled couple have two sons, Landon, four, and Logan, two. Lohan is also the father of troubled actress Lindsay, 31, and model Ali Lohan, 23, with ex-wife Dina.
Major filed for legal separation in 2015, though the pair reportedly continues to live together.
Last year, Major was sentenced by a Palm Beach County judge to six months in jail for violating probation after assaulting a police officer who responded to yet another 911 call at the couple’s home.
And two years earlier, she was sentenced to eight months in jail after a DUI. The arrest violated probation for an incident where she drunkenly threatened passengers and crew members on a Jet Blue flight. After that incident, she was ordered by a judge into alcohol and drug rehab.
Major had been arrested earlier that same year after a scuffle with Lohan.
No word yet on whether this incident marks another probation violation for the tormented former reporter.
