MIAMI — Not that we want to start a rumor or anything, but it seems LeBron James has been spending quite a bit of time in the Miami area as of late.
Miami in summer?
Barton G’s off season?
Like he wanted to forget.
And he’s not been seen around here unless his Cavaliers played the Heat.
But this summer, something happened.
On July 15, James instagrammed two pictures of him cruising Biscayne Bay on a boat with the Miami skyline in the background.
“For all those that had anything to do with me being where I am today I jus wanna say THANK YOU!” he wrote, somewhat cryptically.
He quickly posted another photo of the AmericanAirlines Arena from the water, this time writing: “A ton of great memories riding past her today.”
And then last night, James popped into Barton G with wife Savannah, their three kids and three other family members and a security guard.
By all accounts, they had fun at the funky Miami Beach eatery, ordering the foie gras sliders, truffled and deviled eggs, man’n’cheese in a giant mouse trap, and a Thai inspired Surf’n’Turf.
The kids sipped smoking virgin liquid-nitrogen martinis adorned with popsicles like there was no tomorrow.
Their mother took pictures of the dishes as the former Heater messed around with some of the props the eatery serves with the food.
And just in case you’re wondering, James isn’t going anywhere when it comes to his basketball.
According to reports and despite teammate Kyrie Irving’s desire to leave Cleveland for, possibly the Heat, the earliest that James could leave Cleveland is the 2018-19 season.
