TAMPA — Though her Florida stalker is on lockdown, Kate Beckinsale isn’t taking any chances.
After an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! yesterday, Beckinsale, 44, bolted for the hills, leaving fans in the lurch.
The British Underworld star, who looked tough in black leather pants, a black top and sunglasses, was surrounded by some heavy hitters as she exited the talk show.
On Saturday, an alleged stalker, who has followed the star around the country, was waiting for her at Tampa Bay Comic Con.
According to reports, Terry Lee Repp, 45, threatened to stab Beckinsale before being apprehended by police at the Tampa Bay Convention Center.
The star was in town to participate in a Q&A at Comic-Con, presumably on the heels of last year’s Underworld: Blood Wars.
Repp, who hails from Moravia, Iowa, had allegedly had a physical encounter with the actress in Salt Lake City last year in which he touched her back and threatened to stab her.
He is reported to also have traveled to Houston in 2016 in an attempt to get close to the star. He was arrested then.
Police report that Repp seems to have “an irrational obsession with the victim and has traveled across the country in an effort to harass her.”
The crazed fan was arrested before the actress’ Comic-Con appearance, and soon after Beckinsale filed charges at the local police station.
Convention spokesperson Jamie Kautzmann confirmed that there had been an incident with an “overzealous fan.”
“We did have him escorted from the building, off the property, far away from here,” she said.
