JUPITER — Tiger Woods has checked into Jupiter Medical Center for a 28-day program to treat “pain killer addiction,” according to published reports.
According to the Daily Mail, Woods is trying to allay ex-wife Elin Nordegren‘s concerns about his fitness to parent after last month’s 3 a.m. DUI arrest.
The once great Tiger was found totally out of it in his $220,000 Mercedes, unable to pass a sobriety test because he couldn’t stay awake.
He told officers that he’d taken a number of drugs including Xanax and Vicodin — a potentially deadly combination.
Tiger didn’t kill himself, or anyone else, but he was charged with DUI, and the Internet has been riveted to the Jupiter PD dashcam video of Woods slurring and nearly unable to stand.
According to reports, Woods’ divorce with Nordegren includes a clause that he me must avoid public scandals or risk share of custody cut, and this definitely qualifies as a scandal!
Woods and Nordegren have shared custody of Sam, nine, and Charlie, eight, since their divorce in 2010.
Woods was seen with his kids at Jupiter Medical Center earlier this month.
According to reports, he used that trip to tour the rehab center and then checked in.
This wouldn’t be his first stint in rehab, but it would be his first in Florida.
After his marriage to Nordegeren began to unravel, serial cheater Woods checked into the Pine Grove Institute in Hattiesburg, Mississippi for sex addiction in 2009.
The following year, he checked into the posh The Meadows in Arizona for Vicodin addiction.
If reports are true, this time Woods has checked into Jupiter Medical Center’s Lighthouse Detox, which according to the company’s website: “offers clients a resort-style experience with a host of a-la-carte, upscale amenities, including spa services, gourmet meals and nutritional juicing. Pets are allowed, and we accept all insurances and cash.”
Sounds like just the place for a little rest and relaxation.
