MIAMI — More than a hundred hot chicks in hot pants kicked, cheered and and danced for a panel of judges in the hope of becoming picked to be a Miami Dolphins cheerleader.
The 2017 tryouts took place at the Baptist Health South Florida Training Facility at Nova Southeastern University on Saturday.
Real Miami Dolphins cheerleaders were on hand to demonstrate moves and to cheer on the hopeful ladies.
The talented ladies who made it through the dance audition will move onto the candidate interviews Monday and Tuesday at the Hard Rock Stadium. That gets them one step closer to the final auditions next Saturday.
This year, the Miami Dolphins kept their search closer to home. They only held auditions in Miami and Orlando. Last year, however, the squad did a global search as the first NFL team to look for cheerleaders abroad.
The final auditions will be held at Hard Rock Live. The girls from the Orlando and Miami auditions will compete against each other to win a spot on the squad. Those auditions will be open to the public.
