JUPITER — If you’ve ever been in a war zone, or at the ends of the earth where cellphones don’t reach, and you used a sat phone to make contact with the rest of the world, then you can thank Jupiter business man Dan Colussy who saved the 66-satellite Iridium network back in 2000.
Now, the 85-year-old is selling his out-of-this-world, 17,279-square-foot Bear’s Club Venetian Palazzo at 161 Bear’s Club Drive for $12.5 million. The listing’s with Brian Coffey of Coastal Sotheby’s.
Looks like those old satellites were really worth saving! Colussy bought the land for $2 million in 2003 and finished construction on his Xanadu in 2009.
And he’s only a couple doors down from NBA legend, Michael Jordan.
But now Colussy wants to downsize.
The 5-room, 8-full bath and 4-half-bath mansion he’s offering up for sale is more than unbelievable with a master suite that’s more than 2,300 square feet. That’s bigger than many houses!
