WEST PALM BEACH — A fight in February during Lake Worth’s Street Painting Festival resulted Tuesday in a girl being placed on home detention and charged with aggravated battery.
The offender was accompanied by the infamous “Cash Me Ousside” teen, Boynton Beach-native Danielle Bregoli, at the time of the incident.
Unlike many defendants who are—or at least try to appear to be—repentant and on their best behavior for their day in court, the teen in question turned up with half of her head shaved. She had additionally been placed in leg shackles.
Judge James L. Martz presided over the hearing and, as a condition of the teen’s release, ordered that she attend an alternative school and have no contact with either her co-defendants or her victim, 27-year-old Kimberly Peterson.
Her next hearing is set for Friday.
Bregoli, known of course for her September 2016 appearance as an out-of-control teen on Dr. Phil, was shown on video with the defendant and another girl sprinting away from the scene of the crime before police arrived.
Peterson and her attorney, Gary Lesser, are suing Bregoli’s mother, Barbara Ann Bregoli, for damages in excess of $15,000, alleging that the teens set upon her at Bregoli’s direction after Peterson suggested they abandon their rowdy behavior and go home to their parents. The altercation left Peterson with a broken nose and thumb.
Living up to the reputation that landed her on “Dr. Phil” in the first place, Bregoli has been involved in a number of such incidents in the short time since her rise to fame, which surely won’t help her once her own day in court comes.
Fortunately for her, she shouldn’t have any trouble paying what comes due given her upcoming venture into reality TV stardom.
