DANIA BEACH – Some people just don’t mesh well with living in civilized society, and Donald Hicks is one of those people.
Hicks, 38, was driving around in search of a parking spot on Dania Beach when he pulled up to an open spot. The spot was being reserved, however, by a black couple who were standing there while waiting for family to arrive.
A polite “excuse me” could’ve worked, but that wouldn’t have been racist enough for Hicks’ taste.
When the man, 41-year-old Shackus Davis and the 67-year-old woman, Veronica Larkins, refused to leave the spot, Hicks pointed to a sticker of the Confederate flag on the front of his van and said “F— you n—–s, don’t you see what’s on the front of my truck?”
When this angry tirade still did not convince the couple to leave, Hicks allegedly accelerated his vehicle and rammed it into the couple’s knees.
Sheriff’s deputies arrived shortly thereafter and arrested Hicks on the spot.
The man and woman sought medical attention for their injuries.
Hicks has been dealt two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for his aggressive behavior and is being held on $40,000 bond.
Apparently, Hicks has a history of violent crimes in Palm Beach and Broward counties including hitting a police dog.
Hopefully he can spend some time in jail working on that rotten attitude!
