COCONUT GROVE — The sale of LeBron James‘ home during his two championship seasons in Miami finally sold more than two months after Gossip Extra exclusively told the world about a pending sale contract.
The NBA star, who failed to bring the ultimate win to his Cleveland Cavaliers in June, is $13.4 million richer now that he signed off on the sale of 3590 Crystal View Court in Coconut Grove.
James originally wanted $17 million for the 12,000-square-foot bay front crib when it hit the market in October 2014 but lowered the price to $15 million a few months before the contract was signed.
The buyers: Timo and Nathalia Kipp, Miami real estate investors who also own the nearby Mayfair Hotel & Spa, therealdeal.com is reporting.
“We’re going to use it as our primary residence,” Timo Kipp told the website. “We always thought the price was too high and we were able to negotiate it down.”
According to Miami-Dade County records, James paid $9 million for the six-bedroom crib shortly after he signed on with the Miami Heat in 2010.
The sale severs James’ last tie to South Florida.
