FORT LAUDERDALE — One of Justin Bieber‘s favorite bodyguards was grilled by the lawyer of a Miami Beach photographer who’s suing the troubled singer — and he pleaded the fifth half a dozen times!
It’s yet another Gossip Extra exclusive: Davie resident Hugo Hesny, Bieber’s muscle, was questioned for nearly three hours Wednesday at the downtown Fort Lauderdale office of Hesney’s lawyer, Elias Hillel.
In addition to invoking the right of not responding to questions so as not to incriminate himself, the 32-year-old Hesny swore under oath — cross his heart — that he never touched any photographer anywhere while working for Bieber.
Hesny’s lucky his saggy shorts didn’t catch on fire: There’s plenty of video footage online (see below!) and several arrests to prove otherwise, including an arrest for theft in February in Atlanta.
The local shutterbug’s lawyer who questioned Hesny, Mark DiCowden, declined comment, and Hillel didn’t return calls.
But I’m told by a source close to the case that DiCowden may be seeking sanctions against Hesny for lying.
Among Hesny’s statements:
— He never touched a photographer
— He never chased a photographer
— Bieber never ordered him to attack photographers
In a nutshell, Hesny admitted to asking photographers to delete photos. He denied doing it on Bieber’s orders, saying he just “took it upon myself” to do it.
Hesny was questioned at length about the incident outside the Hit Factory recording studio in June 2013, when he allegedly attacked paparazzo Jeffery Binion while Bieber recorded new music inside.
Hesny said he did walk across the street to Binion, who was hiding behind a balcony.
While Binion claims he was manhandled by Hesny, who allegedly took the memory card from his camera, Hesny told DiCowden he only went to Binion to ask him to delete the photos.
“I thought it was sneaky,” Hesny replied.
Binion wants millions in damages from Bieber.
