Serena Williams is planning to leave her long-time home in Palm Beach Gardens, a source close to the superstar tells Gossip Extra — and she’s preparing to move to within a three-point shot from NBA legend Michael Jordan‘s house in Jupiter.
It’s yet another Gossip Extra exclusive: Williams just plunked down $4.12 million for a 2.4-acre property at golf great Jack Nicklaus‘ fancy Bears Club development!
According to Palm Beach County records Williams, the winner of 17 grand slam titles, paid with cold, hard cash!
The wooded (and hilly, by South Florida standards) property, which is wedged between two holes of the Club’s golf course, is currently vacant.
I’m told the muscle-bound 32-year-old will be building a massive home over the next three years. The value of residences at the Club vary between $2 million and $40 million-plus.
Serena, who was just named AP athlete of the year, has been living with her sister Venus at Palm Beach Gardens’ BallenIsles since 1998. The sisters even helped build a world-class tennis training center in the gated community.
Interesting: While the sisters co-own the BallenIsles house, Serena is the sole owner of the Bears Club property, which is seven doors from ex-NBA champ Michael Jordan sprawling crib.
The sisters have been active on the real estate front for the past few months.
