PARADISE ISLAND — The Office star Craig Robinson, who’s been busy filming a new movie in the Miami area, found enough time to get himself detained by police Wednesday in The Bahamas.
Robinson, 41, was trying to leave the islands after his standup comedy gig at Atlantis when airport authorities allegedly found a small amount of pot and pills in his bag.
The chubby funnyman, who’s best known for his role as warehouse foreman Darryl Philbin on the NBC hit The Office, was taken into custody and immediately appeared before a magistrate.
He pleaded guilty to two counts of drug possession, half a gram of marijuana and 18 ecstasy pills.
The actor told the court he brought the drugs from the States and did not know they were illegal in the Bahamas.
Robinson was ordered to pay a $1,000 in fines and sent back to Miami.
It’s not the first time Robinson’s caught with illicit substances.
In June 2008, he was pinched in California on suspicion of possessing ecstasy and methamphetamine. The charges went away after he completed a drug program.
Robinson’s been filming Hot Tub Time Machine 2 with Chevy Chase and Adam Scott in and around Miami since August.
