Police who processed Derek Medina‘s townhouse at 5555 SW 67th Ave. say they found enough evidence to charge Medina, 31, in the killing of Denny’s waitress Jennifer Alfonso, 26.
Cops also discovered Medina’s 10-year-old daughter from a previous relationship cowering in an upstairs bedroom. She was in the house at the time of the shooting but was unharmed.
Police wrapped her in a blanket, according to witnesses, and turned her over to family members.
Medina allegedly shot Alfonso several time during an argument during which, he claimed on Facebook, she hit him.
The police report mentions that Alfonso threatened to leave Medina during the argument. He allegedly ran upstairs to find his gun in the couple’s bedroom closet and pointed it at Alfonso, the report reads.
When he returned to the kitchen with the gun, Alfonso brandished a knife, according to police. Medina told cops he disarmed her and placed the knife back in a drawer, then shot her when she alleged kicked and punched him.
Very little about Medina wasn’t on Facebook and YouTube. Check out this video of Medina’s training in martial arts:
