Aaron Hernandez Saga: PBSO Missed Riviera Shooter by Minutes!

flag-exclusiveDeputies with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office missed the mysterious shooter of a man in a Riviera Beach industrial complex Feb. 13 by seven minutes, according to the incident report obtained by Gossip Extra.

The gunman, it turns out, could have been New England Patriots tight end and former University of Florida star Aaron Hernandez, whose property near Boston was searched yesterday in connection with a homicide there.

At least, that’s what victim Bradley Sherrod — who, so far, has used two aliases in official papers — says in a civil lawsuit he filed in West Palm Beach federal court June 13.

But because Sherrod refused to cooperate with deputies who found him bleeding from his head Feb. 13, the criminal case here was closed.

Without a victim willing to help detectives and get on the stand at trial, PBSO Spokeswoman Teri Barbera said, there’s no crime in the eyes of the law — even if the victim fingers his assailant in civil court!

“You can’t investigate something you don’t have,” Barbera said. “Obviously, this guy (Sherrod) didn’t want this to be prosecuted. He’s apparently the only witness of the actual shooting.”

PBSO deputies, meanwhile, missed the perpetrator of Sherrod’s attack by mere minutes shortly before 7 a.m. that day.

A worker at the John Deere Landscaping warehouse who was preparing for work outside told police he heard a single gun shot and saw a black SUV drive away.

According to PBSO logs, the first deputies arrived just seven minutes after the witness’ 911 call. But the industrial complex is less than a mile east of I-95, which provided the perpetrator with a quick exit route.

The report shows that deputies spent several hours at the scene after Sherrod was taken to St. Marys Medical Center in West Palm Beach with serious facial injuries, and a shattered eye.

One deputy checked out security video tapes from a nearby business, but they provided no clues.

One investigator who asked to remain anonymous, meanwhile, speculated about the men’s presence at dawn — in a gritty, hooker-infested industrial complex off I-95.

“There were driving back from a strip joint in Miami,” the deputy said, “and they were less than a mile from another strip bar smack dab in the middle of the complex. They were out for a good time, but something happened.”
