Pop star Justin Bieber‘s bodyguards are accused of rouging up a paparazzo taking photos of Bieber skateboarding near a North Miami recording studio this afternoon, Gossip Extra has confirmed.
Miami Dade Police Detective Roy Rutland tells me an officer responded to a report of an assault taking place outside The Hit Factory on NE 149th Street this afternoon.
When the officer arrived, he talked it over with the bodyguards and the shutterbug, and gave the lensman a case number that will allow him to file a complaint.
The allegations are that the Biebs’ bodyguards choked the pap and took the memory card out of his camera.
“The officer concluded that what occurred may have been a simple battery and possibly theft,” Rutland said. “Now, the photographer can pursue this with the state attorney’s office if he chooses.”
Bieber, 19, arrived over the weekend and was spotted with an entourage courtside at the Miami Heat game against the Indiana Pacers Monday night. After the game, Bieber allegedly sicced his bodyguard on a WPLG-Channel 10 cameraman who happened to take a photo of him in an American Airlines Arena hallway.
Bieber, by the way, is staying at the SLS Hotel South Beach, where he was photographed partying by the pool earlier this week.
While these are tense times for Bieber, who is being accused of letting his sudden fame go to his head, the incident is the second in two weeks involving a celebrity and South Florida paparazzi and documented by Gossip Extra.
On May 22, cops in North Palm Beach were called to the Benjamin School after golfer Tiger Woods got in an argument with three shutterbugs after he and galpal Lindsey Vonn dropped off his two children.
The Hit Factory, meanwhile, is a favorite hangout for paparazzi because of the celebrities who work there.
Bieber recorded a slew of tunes there over the years, and used to pose for photos when he came out to relax.
