The mystery Palm Beach buyers who paid $30 million for injured New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez‘ breathtaking Miami Beach house have been identified by Gossip Extra as former Miss Germany Petra Levin and her husband, beer distributor Stephen Levin.
The Levins, both philanthropists who chair at least one major Palm Beach charity gala every season, are scheduled to sign the deed tomorrow morning.
Neither Petra nor Stephen, whose 900-employee Gold Coast Beverage Distributors is headquartered in Doral, was available for comment.
But one real estate source in Miami Beach and another in Palm Beach confirmed that the Levins offered $30 million cash for Rodriguez’ 21,000-square-foot home. The baseball star agreed despite the fact he really wanted $38 million.
The Levins currently live in an Intracoastal-side house on North Lake Way in Palm Beach, and are scheduled to list their house for sale for $36 million next month.
“They kept telling people ARod’s place is one of the coolest houses they’ve ever seen,” a source close to the transaction said. “They fell in love with it the moment they walked in.”
Stephen’s beer distributing business is one of the largest in the country and, according to records, has yearly sales of over $700 million!
The couple and Rodriguez are scheduled to sign the paperwork Friday morning.
That means that ARod’s indoor batting cage is toast!
Petra, I’m told, wants to use it for storage space and a gym.
