While selling a house is getting a easier in South Florida, it’s not so for some celebrities.
Take singer Billy Joel and TV talker Rosie O’Donnell.
Both have homes for sale on private Miami Beach islands.
Both houses are well over $10 million.
And both are still available a year after they came on the market!
The singer of New York State of Mind won’t budge on the price of his 9,000-square-foot crib with a sweeping waterfront view.
It’s still $14.75 million for the La Gorce Island mansion, just like it was when it came on the market.
“A lot of people took a look,” said listing agent Jorge Uribe, “including Miami Heat players. But it’s a unique house for a unique buyer.”
How about the star appeal?
“Potential buyers are folks with a net worth of $100 million. There might be an initial intrigue of buying from a celebrity, but afterwards it doesn’t matter.”
Besides, said Uribe, it’s not that Joel is in a hurry to sell.
“He really enjoys the house,” Uribe said, “and he is very patient.”
Rosie’s place on Star Island?
“We lowered the price in January,” said listing agent Pablo Alfaro.
By $2 million!
The 12-bedroom, 11-bathroom mansion was listed on the TV personality’s last day as host of The Rosie Show on Oprah Winfrey‘s OWN cable network.
It’s now a steal at $17.5 million, and you also get famous neighbors likes Latin songbird Gloria Estefan and rap mogul Sean Diddy Combs.
