Jot down South African Louis Oosthuizen as another big deal PGA golfer in The Honda Classic who just moved to Palm Beach Gardens!
Gossip Extra found out the 30-year-old Ooshuizen, runner-up at last year’s Masters, has just plunked down $1.25 million for a four-bedroom Mediterranean pad in the Old Palm Golf Club community.
He paid $175,000 in golf club membership equity, according to the deed.
Yesterday, we first reported that English star Lee Westwood moved in his Old Palm mansion just before the tournament.
And in January, world No. 1 player Rory McIlroy bought a place down the street.
What’s with Palm Beach Gardens all of the sudden?
“It’s close to the airport, in the middle of world-class golf courses, there’s great shopping, beaches with Bahamas-style turquoise waters, what’s there not to like,” said Waterfront Properties Realtor Rob Thomson. “Plus there’s the word of mouth among celebrity athletes. They know they need to be here.”
Oosthuizen, upset winner of the 2010 Open Championship, is settling down on Green Bayberry Drive, where his two-floor, 7,500 square foot house overlooks the golf course.
