flag-breaking-newsJohn Goodman, the multi-millionaire polo mogul under house arrest while his DUI manslaughter conviction is being appealed, was briefly hospitalized tonight in Wellington.

The founder of International Polo Club Palm Beach reportedly suffered complications stemming from hip replacement surgery.

Goodman, who made national news last year after he adopted his adult girlfriend for “estate planning” reasons, was taken to the Wellington Regional Medical Center via ambulance from his home on the polo grounds.

Goodman’s lawyer told WPTV-Channel 5 that Goodman recently underwent hip replacement surgery and the new joint became dislocated.

Goodman was convicted of being drunk at the wheel of his Bentley when he blew through a stop sign and slammed into the economy car of recently-graduated University of Central Florida student Scott Wilson.

Wilson’s car sunk into a canal, drowning Wilson as Goodman failed to help him.

Goodman was sentenced to 16 years in prison. He is being watched by off-duty Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputies around the clock as his appeal meanders through the system.
