Emeril Lagasse Cooks up Excitement in Palm Beach

flag-ultra-localSuperchef Emeril Lagasse is in Palm Beach to film episodes of Emeril’s Florida, a Cooking Channel series.

The Sunshine State-loving kitchen virtuoso is schedule to cook with chefs all over the chi-chi island and the rest of the county over the next few days for the 13-part series.

On Monday, Lagasse is scheduled to rough it up at Loxahatchee’s Swank Farm where he will harvest the mix before whipping up a little somethin’ with chef Clay Conley at the popular Palm Beach eatery Buccan.

Lagasse’s also planning to visit Delray Beach’s popular 32 East and 50 Ocean. Then it’s on to Jupiter’s rustic Guanabanas and back Palm Beach for a jaunt at The Breakers’ new 1950s-style saloon HMF.

“The show is fun for me because I’m exploring all parts of the state,” said Lagasse. “Each county and city has something unique to offer. From cattle ranches to beautiful beaches and of course, a ton of great food and restaurants in between.”

Lagasse has had a thing for Florida, especially South Florida, for a long time.Until August 2011, when it closed, the pride of New Orleans cuisine owned Emeril’s at the the Loews Hotel in Miami Beach.

Lagasse also cooked at the American Fine Wine Competition in April at the Boca Raton Resort & Club, and judged other chefs’ foods at the Miami Beach Wine and Food Festival.
