— Only in Florida, kids: While school children statewide are taking the FCATs this week after signing a pledge that they wouldn’t cheat, investigators with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement found that Martin County Schools Superintendent Nancy Kline likely cheated when she took her superintendent exam in 2009. While FDLE sleuths say they don’t have enough to arrest and charge Kline criminally, they discovered that she called a consultant several times on her cell phone during her exam, and asked for help because the questions were “really hard.” Kline passed her test, and got a $2,000 bump in pay. — Meanwhile, tributes for television personality Dick Clark continue to pour in this morning after his death at 82 from a massive heart attack:

— And finally, a buyer didn’t seem to mind the bad vibes that no doubt must remain in the house, and plunked down $5.1 million for a canal mansion once owned by swindler Scott Rothstein. Disgraced lawyer Rothstein is serving 50 years in a federal pen but once used the 6-bedroomer he bought for $5.5 million to make investors, politicians and socialites believe in his success. The canal manse was often used for high-profile fundraisers for the likes of then-presidential candidate John McCain and actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, a former governor of California.
