The stories making noise this a.m. in South Florida:

— Protesters from the Tea Party are organizing this morning to extend what they call a “warm” welcome to President Barack Obama as he visits South Florida this afternoon. According to the anti-tax, anti-immigration activists’ website, one sign-carrying group is planning to make itself visible to Obama’s motorcade at the corner of Alternate A1A and Hood Road about 11:30 a.m. The prez, dubbed by the group “Food Stamp President,” is scheduled to land at Palm Beach International Airport about 11 a.m. then hightail it to Frenchman’s Reserve for a fundraiser at the home of former Pratt & Whitney big Ansel Tookes. Tea partiers will also be visible on the campus of Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, where Obama is scheduled to make another pitch for a mandatory 30 percent tax on those making more than $1 million a year. — The man who allegedly killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin wants your cash! The self-appointed Sanford neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman has started a no-frills website asking for donations to help him fight allegations that his racism toward Martin sparked the shooting. His pitch on “On Sunday February 26th, I was involved in a life altering event which led me to become the subject of intense media coverage. “As a result . . . , I have been forced to leave my home, my school, my employer, my family and ultimately, my entire life. This website’s sole purpose is to ensure my supporters they are receiving my full attention without any intermediaries.” The site includes a direct link to donate to Zimmerman’s legal defense and living expenses. — Un-retired NFL star Randy Moss has been awarded a default judgment in his lawsuit against a Delray Beach barber with whom Moss invested $160,000. Moss claims Kelvin Jones of using the cash to open 301 Salon as part of an Atlantic Avenue revitalization program then failing to pay the money back. Chances are Moss will never get his money back despite the judgement. The salon now is closed, and Jones has vanished. (Click here for more)
