Law enforcement sources confirmed for Gossip Extra that the body found in a black Cadillac in a downtown West Palm Beach parking garage this morning is that of missing Palm Beach Realtor Robert Wyner!
Barclays International Realty owner Wyner, 70, hadn’t been heard from since Monday.
Wyner apparently committed suicide and suffered a gunshot wound to the head.
Palm Beach Police yesterday warned that Wyner was suicidal and had appeared disoriented for the past two weeks. They said Wyner owned a gun, which had disappeared from the apartment at the Biltmore that he and his wife, Shirley, shared. Cops also asked members of the public not approach his car if seen, and to call 911.
Wyner was found a block away from the apartment building where his son, Jason Wyner, committed suicide in April 2007 at 36. In 2010, the Boca Raton Children’s Museum dedicated a new wing to Jason Wyner, a musician.
12:48 p.m. UPDATE — The Palm Beach Police department just issued this statement: “The Palm Beach Police Department has received confirmation from West Palm Beach Police Department that the deceased man found this morning in a parking garage in West Palm Beach is Robert N. Wyner, of Palm Beach. Wyner was reported as missing and endangered earlier this week. At this point, it appears that Mr. Wyner died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, and there is no indication of foul play.”
