The Classic is scheduled March 1-4, and the tournament will be the troubled golfer’s first PGA National appearance in official tourney.
“I heard great things about the Honda Classic,” Woods said in a statement. “Now that I live here I want to play whenever possible. (Golf legend Jack Nicklaus‘) involvement in the tournament and the benefits to the local community are also important.”
The players committed included locals like Padraig Harrington and Ernie Els as well as foreign stars Y.E. Yang and Rory McIlroy.
Woods is also schedule to participate to the Cadillac Championship at The Blue Monster at Doral March 7-11 near Miami.
