Palm Beach cops say the battery allegation against John Castle, the multi-millionaire who owns Palm Beach’s historic Kennedy compound, will not be investigated – unless the waiter who says Castle broke his finger starts cooperating!

Castle, 76, is accused of grabbing the hand of Club Colette waiter Paul Kucik Saturday night and twisting it until Kucik’s finger broke. According to the police report, Castle wasn’t happy about Kucik bringing him his check at his table.

For good measure, Castle allegedly called Kucik a “schmuck.”
Because Club Colette is a private club, members like Castle are often billed monthly for their dining.
The incident hasn’t shocked many who know Castle, a personal friend and frequent Palm Beach host of U.S. Sen. Orrin Hatch. Leverage buyout king Castle, CEO of Castle Harlan, is known on The Island as an abrasive character who might snaps at the help, which in his case includes half a dozen servants, chauffeurs and yacht captain.
Yet, Kucik has yet to formally sign off on Castle’s prosecution. He indicated to police he’d first discuss it with a lawyer.
“At this point, without a victim, there isn’t a crime,” said Palm Beach Police Spokesman Fred Hess. “Unless someone is willing to come forward, the case will remain closed.”
Kucik called cops to Club Colette on Sunday after X-rays showed his finger was broken. According to the police report, Kucik reported the incident Club officials — who did strictly nothing about it!
In 1995, Castle burst on the Palm Beach society circuit by buying the beachfront compound owned by the family of President John F. Kennedy. In 1991, the property then used mainly by the then-U.S. Sen. Ted Kenndy, became the scene of an alleged rape.
