Rock’n’roll icon Joan Jett highlighted the Make-a-Wish Foundation‘s annual gala at the Intercontinental hotel Saturday night downtown Miami, as the event passed the mark of $10 million raised since it kicked off 16 years ago!
The $500-a-plate shindig recreated Truman Capote‘s black-and-white masked ball of 1966 in New York City.
As he does every year, ball chairman Shareef Malnik, owner of The Forge restaurant in Miami Beach, dreamed up a lavish scenario that included strange characters roaming the fiesta and a gladiator-themed after-, after-party. Burn Notice star Gabrielle Anwar, his galpal, auctioned off luxury items in a dress made to look like Malnik’s tux.
Among the guests, baseball great Sammy Sosa kept patting his wife Sonia‘s belly: She expected baby No. 5, a little girl!
